Pandemic or no pandemic, a strong immune system is a must. I will share with you the only 2 supplements you need for a strong immune system. Always speak to your healthcare provider before taking any supplements. After getting sick more frequently than I’d like to admit, I decided to supplement especially for my immune system. These 2 have helped tremendously and I have not been sick in the 6 months I have taken them.
1. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is sometimes known as the “sunshine vitamin” because your body makes it naturally when skin is exposed to sunlight. It’s not quite a vitamin but is more a hormone factor that controls the immune system. There are vitamin D receptors in all of your white blood cells (your body’s soldiers) and in your DNA. It is able to protect you against pathogens by producing cathelicidin and defensins which are potent peptides with the ability to kill microbes.
2. Vitamin B Complex
What about Vitamin C?
Yes vitamin C has the power to stimulate the production of more white blood cells making it one of the most important for a strong immune system. However, this is from the natural form of vitamin C, not the synthetic kind found in supplements. The good news is that it doesn’t take much to get your daily requirement for vitamin C. A bell pepper has more than enough of the vitamin C you need each day. Your body only absorbs the amount it needs and the rest is banished through number ones and number twos. So there really is no need to buy and consume those super high strength vitamin C supplements. A glass of tomato juice contains more vitamin C than orange juice.
